For adult children who worry — near or far

Know they’re okay, without having to call every day just to check

Aasta connects your parent’s phone with yours: a help button, one-tap voice messages, and an alert if the phone hasn’t moved in hours. No cameras, no listening in, no watching their every move.

Free to start · No card required · First-time setup takes under 5 minutes

How it works

1. Install and pair up

You install Aasta on your phone and send a code to your family member. They enter it on their phone and you’re connected — no complicated accounts, no passwords to remember.

2. Aasta watches just enough

Phone battery, whether the app is still active, and whether your family member presses the help button. You decide whether to also see their location on demand or continuously.

3. We only notify you when it matters

No constant pings. If everything’s fine, you won’t hear from Aasta all day — and that’s exactly the point.

No cameras, no open microphone, no listening in

Aasta doesn’t record or watch anything. Just battery, phone activity, and — only if you turn it on — location.

Your family member decides what to share

Continuous location and the fuller features are requested and accepted from your family member’s own phone, never in secret.

No medical language, no promises we can’t keep

Aasta is family wellbeing and contact, not a medical product or an emergency service. In a real emergency, you still call your local emergency number.

Works on the phone they already have

No need to buy a new phone: Aasta runs on Android devices from several years back and on iPhones with iOS 16.4 or later. If we ever need an update, we give plenty of notice inside the app — we never just stop working without warning.

Start free, upgrade if you need to

The Free plan already includes the help button, voice messages, and battery alerts. Plus adds continuous location from €4.99/mo; Total adds a multi-family escalation chain from €9.99/mo.

FAQ

Does my parent need to be good with phones?

No. On their side, Aasta is just a big help button and a couple of quick replies ("I’m okay", "Call me"). You, as the family member, see everything else from your own phone.

Does this replace a telecare service with a pendant and a 24-hour call centre?

No, and it doesn’t try to. Aasta is family contact and wellbeing. If your family member already has a professional telecare service with an emergency call centre, Aasta works well alongside it, not instead of it.

What if my family member falls or has a real emergency?

Aasta is not an emergency service. In any emergency, always call your country’s emergency number first (112 in the EU, 911 in the US). Aasta’s help button notifies family, not a medical service.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. The Free plan never expires and needs no card. Every new user also gets a 14-day free trial of Total to see if the advanced features are worth it.

Why it’s called Aasta

Aasta — Åsta in Norwegian — is an Old Norse name that comes from “ást”: love, affection. The one who is loved. In Norway it’s a grandmother’s name, the kind that gets passed down.

The best-known Aasta lived in the tenth century: Åsta Gudbrandsdatter, mother of two kings of Norway, Olaf II and Harald Hardrada. Two sons who made their names far from home, and a mother who stayed. It felt like the right name for an app that exists for exactly that: staying close to the one who stayed.
